About us
At Home on Holiday was formed in 2002, following our purchase into a consortium-ownership of the two properties at Westgate Vacation Resorts in Florida, USA during 2000/1. We then purchased “Alba 162” at Gran Alacant near Alicante, Spain in April 2002, followed closely by “Golf D-2” on the “Golf Panoramica” Golf and Country Club at Sant Jordi near Vinaros in Castellon, Spain in June 2002. In July 2003, we purchased the vintner’s house “La Vigne” at St Genies de Fontedit in the Herault region of Languedoc-Rousillion, France, and extensively refurbished it from 2003 through 2004. We make regular visits to all the properties each year for their maintenance and upkeep, and for updating of facilities as you would in your own home. We therefore describe all of the properties as our own “home from home”, and which we are pleased to share with you for your own holiday rental.
As we have chosen to invest in these properties that we regularly use ourselves as holiday homes, we aim to ensure that the houses are fully equipped and maintained to a high standard, including facilities for small children (high chairs, cots, crockery for little ones etc.), and for adults alike (UK kettles, toasters, WIFI internet etc!!). The houses are all located in pleasant surroundings, with ease of access (often directly from the house) to fully-serviced outdoor swimming pool and garden areas, and with car-parking directly outside the house. The coast, with some wonderful beaches and a choice of lovely seaside resorts, are only a short drive away from all the houses, with plenty of local parking.
The properties are available year-round, with heating as appropriate locally for the winter months, though you may wish to note that some local amenities are seasonal – please ask us for details when booking.
Each property is locally managed, by English-speaking residents who live locally to the houses in Spain and France, and by the resort management in Florida. They will be available on your arrival and are also available (via the contact details we provide) during your stay to facilitate any local needs you may have, however small. When you arrive, therefore, the property will have been fully cleaned, the beds newly made, freshly laundered towels provided, the hot water (and heating in winter if necessary!!) will be on, and the Welcome Pack replenished with household items and sufficient provisions for your first few cups of tea or coffee, and breakfast the following day. Condiments (salt, pepper, cooking oil, sugar etc.) are all available in each house for your use; we simply ask you to replenish these on your departure for use by future guests.
Each house also comes complete with comprehensive details of amenities in the local area, including details of shops, restaurants and bars, and guide books and brochures with travel details to places of interest that we and other guests have visited and can therefore recommend.
